Day 1

Day 1

We will start our day at El Cubo, StoveTeam's headquarters, and meet Regional Director Alex Eaton for a brunch with a breathtaking view of surrounding volcanoes. Gain insights into StoveTeam's impactful model and engage in discussions about StoveTeam’s programs. Move to El Taller in Santiago Zamora for the Maestros Comaleros Training, witnessing the initial stages of stove building. Afterward, we will explore the Santiago Zamora community, visiting both "open fire" and Justa stove households experiencing the contrast in living conditions. Enjoy a free afternoon before a group dinner at Fermento, a uniquely decorated restaurant by Chef Héctor Castro, offering a delightful end to a day filled with immersion and exploration. For those seeking more adventure, an optional coffee tour with Don José is available, providing insights into coffee cultivation and a chance to savor a local meal. The day encapsulates cultural discovery, hands-on experiences, and a taste of Antigua's culinary excellence.

Day 2

Day 2

On Day Two we will explore more of Antigua with an Antigua Walking Tour in the morning led by certified guide Selvyn Herrera, offering insights into the city's historic and hidden gems, enriched by his two decades of experience and passion for history, anthropology, and local flora and fauna. Following the tour, we delve into the Maestros Comaleros Training in Santiago Zamora, where you'll actively participate in constructing Justa stoves with the trainees, providing a hands-on cultural immersion experience. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Rooftop Cocktail Class by mixologist Angel Barrios, World Class 2021 winner, from 2 Onzas Mixology, and delight in a private dinner on the rooftop at Xibalba, catered by the talented chefs of Barriga Llena, for a tasteful conclusion to a day filled with cultural exploration and culinary delights.

Day 3

Day 3

On Day Three you will witness the culmination of StoveTeam's Maestros Comaleros Training as skilled stove builders showcase their knowledge. You will have the opportunity to observe trainees constructing stoves independently and engage in a discussion with Alex to understand the training process and the trainees' progression. Afterward, we will explore Cervecería 14, a renowned local brewery in San Miguel Dueñas, with a guided tour and lunch against a picturesque backdrop of volcanoes. You will also have an exciting experience participating in a "Chicken Bus" Workshop, unveiling the transformation of retired US school buses into iconic Guatemalan "chicken buses." We will wrap up the day with a group dinner at Panza Verde, savoring a multicourse culinary experience with wine pairings in the enchanting courtyard. This marks a heartfelt farewell, celebrating the rich flavors of Guatemala and the lasting memories forged during the immersive journey.

Day 4

Day Four is Departure Day and guests who have later flights will be welcomed to our Maestros Comalerso Graduation Ceremony providing an opportunity to interact with the trainees and inquire about their training experiences. The morning promises insight into the journey of becoming Master Stove Builders, with a chance to pose questions to StoveTeam's MC Training Team. Following the graduation, at 11:30 am, guests have the option to depart or enjoy a free day with various optional activities. Whether heading home or exploring further, activities such as a Casa de Jade Tour & Workshop, Latin Dance Class, Private Rum Tasting, Barista "Latte Art" Class, Cacao & Chocolate Workshop, Spa Day at Casa Santo Domingo, Street Art Tour, Pacaya Volcano Hike, or visits to Earthlodge, Hobbitenango, Cerveceria 14, Finca San Cayetano, ATV Tour, Horseback Riding, and more are available.
